Verity Farcett lives under the benevolent but unwavering rule of Toni, the matriarch of a fourteen-goose dynasty. While Verity technically pays the mortgage, Toni handles all significant leadership decisions, including yard management, human scheduling, and enforcement of the “no suspicious behavior without supervision” rule.
Toni’s trusted lieutenants, Panic and Disco, oversee day-to-day operations with the enthusiasm of junior officers who were promoted too quickly but refuse to admit it. The next generation—Dante (Toni’s son) and Spider (Toni’s grandson)—are currently in training, honing the family talents of strategic honking and targeted intimidation.
When not performing her duties as Goose-Designated Human, Verity enjoys tea, offbeat humor, and the comedic wisdom of Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and Gene Wilder. Her holiday soundtrack is exclusively Bob Rivers’ Twisted Christmas—a choice Toni tolerates only because it seems to keep Verity productive.
Verity’s hobbies include attempting household repairs while being judged by fourteen geese, trying to outmaneuver Disco (unsuccessfully), and pretending she has any real authority in the backyard.
She resides in a modest human dwelling located squarely within sovereign Goose Territory, where she writes under Toni’s watchful, approving, and occasionally corrective gaze.
